Mr. Mr. - all 4 pounds of him - was named by Nancy for the 80's
rock group.He adopted us in 1986 by showing up on the deck one day in
early fall and refusing to leave. After a short period he was being fed here and
showing even less inclination to depart. As November approached a demand was
made by the younger set that he be allowed in the house due to some fear as to
the safety of a black cat on Halloween. Needless to say,
he never left.
Describing Mr's personality is quite simple. He
had two brain cells. One was the "Pet Me" cell, the other was the "Feed Me" cell.
Ecstasy then became receiving a snack while being petted.
The affection
brain cell was predominate and Mr. wanted to be friends with everyone.
For several years he was very attached to Marble. Notice the similarity in
size and then ask who was the dominant member of the friendship and who bossed who
around.
He also spent years trying to snuggle up to Chipper.

At his first visit to
the Vet
he was estimated as being about one
year old so his age at passing was about 16 years. His final physical
problems related to an over active thyroid which we had suspected previously due to
to his high heart rate and low weight, but
which had always tested as normal. Unfortunately, this time it was really a
problem and we were only partially able to get it under control. He passed away
while Nancy was holding him in her arms on a Sunday evening. We miss the little
guy.
